About Me

Hi, my name’s Niko and I’m an experienced business, technical leader and people manager.

I’ve worked in my own bootstrapped companies, successfully growing an events platform to $500k ARR.

More recently I’ve been working at services marketplace scale-up Airtasker.com learning from some amazing colleagues to grow the marketplace into the USA and the UK as well as guide the development of some of the key platform developments that have made the platform better for users as well as easier for all future teams to modify and improve.

Learning to be a professional and to craft technical organisations

I’ve had the privilege to spend the last few years with an array of colleagues at Airtasker. I’ve been lucky to learn from very talented software engineers, product managers, designers, marketers, and executives. I started out as just a consulting engineer, working as tech lead, engineering manager, director. Then when I moved to Portugal I also got to create Airtasker’s first technical hub in Europe. Hiring and building a team and office from scratch. While at Airtasker I have contributed significantly to maintaining the core product that supports users posting tasks and making offers. Included in that I’ve driven the development and adoption of server driven UI patterns within the core product to enable teams to iterate on content faster and drive changes across platforms.

Bootstrapping one of the leading live event platforms in the world

I created many smaller startups in the years prior to Eventfuel, but this was my most successful company where we became Apple’s go-to provider for event technology in EMEA, supporting thousands of events every year. We had several employees based in Lisbon, Portugal. During this time, I learnt how to lead a company with marketing, sales, software engineering functions all at the same time.
